When you were growing up, the word “queer” was probably used as an insult and therefore you were taught to not use it all. Nowadays, the word is rising in popularity after it’s reappropriation, so what should you do? Is it ok to say it? To help give you an answer we will run through a brief history of the term “queer” to examine whether it is okay to use.
